North Cotabato Emmanuel Pinol and Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Cruz, together with Senator Mar Roxas, arrived in the city yesterday ( 07Aug08 ), to meet with Zamboanga City Mayor Celso Lobregat and consolidate their efforts in preparation for their oral arguments at the Supreme Court in the days to come.
Zamboanga City, North Cotabato and Iligan CIty earlier filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court to halt the signing of a memorandum of agreement on a territory deal which was supposed to be forged by the Philippine government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Malaysia on 05Aug. The Supreme Court published an indefinite temporary restraining order to the memorandum of agreement signing on 04Aug.
